Why RYSA?
RYSA has been in our community since the 1980’s and began as Ramapo Youth Soccer Association with Bobby Calderon providing high level soccer training to our local players. RYSA was officially incorporated in 1994.
RYSA training is led by Bobby Calderon of First Shot Soccer, who played professionally in the Primera Division de Costa Rica for Deportivo Saprissa and has led many teams to state cup and national tournament championships.
Our trainers are dedicated to developing the young athletes in our community. They continue their trainer education in order to achieve new certificates of training. RYSA trainers range from certified directors of coaching, some have played professional soccer, head coaches of High School Varsity Soccer, and many played in college. All RYSA trainers have their USSF "F", "E" license or above. RYSA trained players are easily recognized for their high skill level, game strategies, confidence and sportsmanship.
RYSA fields 16 teams from U8 through U14 during the 2021/22 season in both Northern Counties and EDP leagues
RYSA has several High School spring teams (birth year 2006-2003) competing in the highest levels of Northern Counties and EDP
RYSA offers high level Goalkeeper training with previous Costa Rican World Cup GK and former Women's Professional soccer player, Yirlania "Chila" Fonseca
